You missed two of the best!

The first can be excused--you have chosen the beauty of evening, I of morning--but how can the Ainulindale not make the list!

The second omission however, is inexcusable. Orual enters the hall of the gods and realizes she too is Psyche.

The descent of the God's from that hideous strength is very high on my list -very close to number 1. It is just magnificent...
But I also have some less "magnificent" moments, especially in Tolien, which I keep returning to - especially the meeting with Tom Bombadil in LOTR, and the meeting with Beorn in The Hobbit. Then there is the voyage of Earendil, as well as the first meeting of Elf and Man. And the appearance of Ulmo to Tuor, son of Huor (all from The Silmarillion). In Lewis I also have favourite moments from "Till we have faces"...

If I could vividly remember any of my favorite scenes from The Chronicles of Narnia, I would of gladly suggested them. But it's been five or six years since I've read the books.

One scene does come to mind though, from The Horse and His Boy of Shasta entering the caves in the desert. For the first time, I was actually scared by a Chronicles of Narnia book. I can't think of what Lewis was actually try to say right now, but the chills that it sent up my spine as a kid are nearly unforgettable.
